Hello.

I have tried to explain this to some people with little luck, and so I thought about making a tutorial about it. This is to help people create sketchup stuff ready to be put into unity, and eventually, be played on. So I opened my favorite software, Keynote, and started making it. Enjoy!

And this concludes the tutorial. I hope this helps clear up any confusion!

If you export using Sketchup Pro and select "export two sided faces" then you don't need to worry about "reversed faces" and whatnot. It's all in my video tutorial :)

well needed bam.  Thank you

You may have to remove the coloration you had so you can see which faces are negative.  you also might need to add a few faces if you intended to use both sides of another face.

OH! The ground in block worlds is like that, you go under it, it is invisible, but when you go through it, u cant go back. In terrain worlds, you can go through it (and light), but you get stuck in it.

I made a palace world, but i can put textures on the reverse faces (like inside cubes or cylinders). I am confused with this.

When I make a new circle or square flat on the ground, is the top face reversed?

The reversed face is the one that is blue.

Dark blue?

When you make a square flat on the ground, what face is on top by default?

But why is it that I can paint the reverse faces? I thought they are invisible. The tutorial said that light can go through It, but I still see the reverse side.

You can go to View -> Faces -> Monochrome to remove all texturing (It's still there, just not visible) so you can see the face orientation. Just go to View -> Faces -> Shaded with textures (shows textures).

Even if you texture a the reverse side of a face, (appears blue in Monochrome view) then unless you double-side the face, (export settings) it will not show.

The normal side of the face appears white.

The reverse side of the face appears blue.

What if i have a flat 2D square, and i color the normal face red, and the reverse face green, and I export it to Unity. Will the reverse side still show, or will it become invisible?
