I just realized a few minutes ago that I hadn't posted today's wallpaper:}
Today I'm straying away from the silver screen, just for a wee bit.
But not too far away.  That is, they're still movie inspired.
The thing is, you can't force creativity or inspiration - I can only design what I've been inspired to design.
I've been reading and watching The Lord of the Rings lately, as you probably already know, so naturally I've been inspired by that lately.
Are you starting to get an idea of where this post is headed? ;)
Ahem, drum roll please...
The first in a series of Lord of the Rings inspired wallpapers...Arwen!
{full size image located on the Graphic Design page}
I'm so happy that they gave Arwen a bigger role in the movie than in the book!  I think she's pretty neat, and I LOVE her hair.  Yet another movie I should watch when I'm considering cutting my hair short.  That makes Little Women (1994), Fiddler on the Roof, and Lord of the Rings...okay, rabbit trailing there.  Sorry;)
 - Now, a note to those of my readers who do not read fantasy books -
I would imagine that at this point you might be slightly alarmed at the frequent mention of both Narnia and the Lord of the Rings on my blog lately.  However, there is no need for alarm, because there is no danger of either one taking over my blog.  It's only natural, having just discovered LOTR, that I'll become excited and want to share my excitement with others.  I become slightly obsessed with every new thing I discover, which means that most of my obsessions last for no longer than a week or so (as illustrated by my week long obsession with POTO;).  The longest I've ever been obsessed with something, was when I was crazy about Roy Rogers for about a year.  I don't think I watched anything but Roy's movies for that time period;)
Why am I telling you all this?  Because, although this is my blog and theoretically I can post whatever I want, I want to be sensitive to my readers, especially those who are my in real life friends.  Therefore, please bear with me as I go through the LOTR stage, and try to forgive my excitement.  It will not last forever.
Thanks for reading:)
Oh, and just to give you a heads-up: I'll probably be talking non-stop about Narnia next month.  Why?  Because the latest Narnia movie, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is being released on DVD and Blu-ray on April 8th!!!  Because of my mom's health we weren't able to go to the theatre to see it (snap!), so I still haven't seen it.  BUT, my dad has pre-ordered it from Amazon, so we'll finally get to see it in April!  Squeal!!!!
So, you're warned;)
Carry on!
Happy Trails, y'all!

Love your Arwen wallpaper!! I went through a "Lord of the Rings" phase, too. The first movie came to theaters when I was in college, and there was a lot of excitement about these books finally being made into live-action movies. :) I really loved how they beefed up Arwen's character, too. There were other changes that I did NOT appreciate, but I won't get into that now. :}

Just in case you need some fuel for your obsession, did you know they made a musical of "The Lord of the Rings"? It only lasted about 13 months in the UK...I don't think it even made it to the US. I wish I could see it live! The entire soundtrack is on Rhapsody.com, if you have that. You can also purchase it on Amazon.com. I found several clips and most of the soundtrack on Youtube as well. And if you want a quick sampling, I have some of the songs on my playlists on my blogs: nevergrowupdollguide.blogspot.com and tessandmaggiesblog.blogspot.com. I especially love "The Road Goes On", sung by the hobbits and the elves, "Lothlorien", sung by Legolas and Galadriel, "Song of Hope", the duet sung by Arwen and Aragorn, "The Cat and the Moon" (even though it's pretty much a drinking song...but I love it because it reminds me of that scene in the book much more than the movie did), and "Star of Earendil", sung by Arwen, although it kind of sounds and looks like they may be worshiping the star...I'm not really sure. If you listen, I'd be interested to hear what you think. :)

Can't wait to see what your other wallpapers look like! :)

I'm glad you like the wallpaper!
I didn't know about that - that was probably an amazing musical!=)  I'll have to listen to some of those songs.  Thanks for sharing that tidbit with me:)

Lovely wallpaper! It's subtle, yet you can still tell clearly what it is.
Let me just say I admire your maturity. You have fun with your "obsession," but you don't let it own you.

LOL! Yes, movies with long-haired heroines can be very inspiring...especially if you're a costume geek ("Hey! I don't need a wig to play an Elf--it's built-in!"). The Elves (and later Éowyn) kinda helped me accept my blonde hair (instead of wishing it was flaming red or jet-black :-P).
Will you be writing a review of Dawn Treader after your family see it?
God bless,
~Wild Rose"~

I was typing a reply to your comment earlier, but my mom wanted to watch Emma (2009) before it got to late.  I couldn't resist that;)  But, here I am:)
Thank you:)
LOL!  I was thinking the same thing while watching The Fellowship - I don't need a wig=)  I went through a stage where I wanted red hair, too.  It's all Anne of Green Gables fault, really:)
I don't know, but I'll probably end up writing a little something about The Dawn Treader after I see it.  Have you seen it?
