I'm proposing a category system for any world catelog that exists. Please consider this carefully, and tell me if I have made any mistakes, and if you want to use it. Here goes.

Appearance:
A sidebar on the left of the screen, with it's own scrollbar, will house this.

That happens when copy-pasted from a word-processing doc, If I understand correctly.

Thanks for the shoutout :D

Anyway, one thing i noticed is that in the "created with" section, you did not put "Geiodo Editor AKA FlyClub's World Creator"

other than that, i really like the idea, and I do know that there is at least one world database around somewhere, so perhaps that could work well.

yep, it has happened to me before, and ive realized its when u copy and paste from the document or clipboard (basically copy and paste from anything)

and i would like to give u a heads up jos3ph
Flynn, Flyclub, and FlyClub are all the same people, unless u were thinking about him so much because he has made tons of worlds :P

and a couple of thoughts:
1. when u say on the side, do u mean sideways, or just to the left like the way computers organize things?
2. why would gametypes be exploring/dogfights? in all worlds u are able to explore, and have dogfights
3. it isnt necessary to have a "created with" button because it doesnt affect the gameplay in anyway

unknown,

@ unknown: Yeah, he's made so many worlds, my bad ;)
1) You have iTunes? I mean the kind of sidebar on the left, with similar icons and look as well.
2) It's what they were created FOR, not what people use them for. You would be able to put you're world into a lot of different categories too.
3) I dunno, I thought it important. What do you guys think?

again, i would suggest it having a tab either in between Download and FAQ, or under Download
and all the worlds would be organized by alphabetical order
and under/to the left of each name of a world, there would be the creator's name, and under/next to that there would be short description or comment on the world by the creator, along with a pic
so the format would look like this:

(world)
(picture) (optional)
Creator: (creator's name)
Description: (whatever creators wants to write about world)

but again this may take a while to do, so what you have could work too

It seems to me like you just hopped over to Geek's post and took his idea. This already exists, sorry.

I kinda didn't, though.
He came up with a world catelog,
I came up with the way to organize it.
I came up with this all on my own, and if you want to falsely accuse me, go ahead.
It means nothing to me.

I think each category should have an icon at the top, not on the side it, it just feels better. There should also be a category for "all worlds", with a search function at the bottom. Also, there shouldn't be a category icon on the top for each type of racing, just all the racing ones combined, from there there would be different sections for the different types of racing worlds.

This, combined with Geek's idea of rating the worlds, and having a "top worlds" list, that would be created by the users, not just the world mods, would be perfect. Then the world mods would have a better way to know which worlds people liked the most. Also, this could be combined with Geek's other idea of a reviewing system for the worlds.

Although there are not that many worlds now, this could be amazing when there is more worlds.

@Gub Yeah, why didn't I put in a search engine?
There are a lot of different kinds of racing, though, like you're GigaRace is way different than, say, the racetrack in cheezburger's world. It's a lot to consider.

Try to get Aubrey to integrate it with the Whirld Repository. Right now, as a back project, I have a Whirld Database with reviews, pics and a gallery. Well working on the gallery. ;)
This is my solution: Oh, you have to click on it to see the transparent parts.
The tabs can be labeled as popular, recent, featured, and search. More tabs could be added.

But here is the catch. You might have to do it yourself cause Aubrey totally ignored me when I mentioned this to him 3 times. Yup Aubrey, if you see this then don't bother replying.

EDIT: I think I was too hard on Aubrey. He was probably toiling away to make the Whirld 4 release. Sorry dude.

I very much like you're idea, it was about I was thinking of, but I didn't have such a smooth-looking interface in mind. Nice job! I'll try my best to contact him man.
