OLD:I would do the jet when unity is updated, I could also do any other vehicles needed that no one is doing.

Look, if I were a plane designer  I would look at that and say it will never fly, there needs to be balance, and parts of the ship are lopsided.... Now if  I were you I would balance those out. And those engines look like well...... I do not know what they look like, but where are the insides? look as spiffy's submarine, ddi you see the detail in his propulsion? now it needs allot of work, but it can get there.

Now it is no where near finished, and I never intent to finish it, but here are some tips. Think connected, think smooth, think as if it is all mechanical, try to envision how it works. Oh and most importantly think futuristic.

it is boxy, think triangle, it has improved greatly, but it is still lopsided, also try zooming out from the vehicle some more and take your pictures from an angle.

Also do not do any infinitely thin pieces.

heres some pictures of a jet a was working on. im not sure if it could be called "finished" yet, but take a look at it. i haven't softened the edges yet, because that causes problems when adding things onto the model. tell me what you think, and if anything needs to be added on or changed. and yes, it has a google earth picture in it :P

Actually I didn't base it on anything special.
I was just playing with some shapes, extruding and scaling them when I got this flat somewhat cigar like structure. I'd never done a proper x wing before so that had to be tried too.

And Seb...
- I think George Lucas beat us both to it when it comes to X-Wings.
BTW: Which of your models should it be based on?

All the vehicles could be powered by gamma rays or something else powerful that space has in abundance.
4 days - 10,403v

Or maybe:
20 times as good as current rockets, non-combustion, and has potential for 200 Newtons of force. That, and the hovercraft already seems to use one. (See image on wikipedia page.) In theory, hydrogen (the most common element in the known universe) could be used as propellant. As for actual power source: fusion reactors (more likely), or high capacity batteries?

14 hours - 1,624v

I reckon we should have thrusters as the space ability. It should have a heat up and cooldown time, so that people dont just spot a laser and hit space, rather you can have decoy shots, eg: simonoz fires a laser a killerdude. Killerdude activates thrusters. simonoz can now subconsiously calculate killerdude's speed and shoot him.

(hope you don't mind killerdude)

the jet is taking a while though, and I would like to show you mine so far

A jet's speed is both it's strength and it's weakness; it can go fast but can't go slow and on the ground the physics should be maneuverable when slow but can hardly turn when going fast on the ground.
