-Update 2-
The link is on the index page!

-Update-
I am making all of this with pages and exporting it to a pdf file, so a browser that can view pdfs will be best to view this. Any suggestions are helpful!

-Update End-

Well, I am making/just started a whirld tutorial that will cover unity, some of blender, and some of sketchup. I was wondering what people wanted me to include in it/think would be most helpful for new world makers.

If there is lots of ideas I might not get to all of them as I'm not really spewing time out my ears over here. :P

So please.. suggestions, criticism, IDEAS, etc....  I'm all ears! (Well not really but it's just a saying)

You might want to wait a bit as Aubrey is planning on releasing Whirld 5 sometime soon with a completely new interface.

I was actually thinking of working on a framework for a blender tutorial myself.
If you do, something you might include is how to make use of blender's modifiers, and UV mapping. Can't think of anything other than a general modeling tutorial beyond that, though.

Good Luck!

I will include UV mapping and modifiers, and I will wait for whirld 5 to do the whirld stuff (if it doesn't take too long). I'll also do yours Yoshi!

Thanks people! XD

Aubrey is indeed working on Whirld 5–a significantly improved library.  Aubrey would create an updated tutorial as well.  So I would wait until then; then create a more sophisticated tutorial ;)

Just curious, what are those gameobjects that have a grey symbol as opposed to a blue one? They do not seem to work.

Grey GameObjects are regular objects while blue ones are prefabs.

Why don't you host it on Google Docs? Thats where I have the modeler's FAQ.

1. I like the way you can view the pdfs in a browser. (at least safari I haven't tried other browsers)
2. It is easier :P

Also, geek, if you want, it would be great to include a link to the modeller's FAQ as an extra resource.

It won't work in Firefox which downloads each individual PDF when you click on the link. I still say that you should focus on covering the Whirld stuff as there are *tons* of tutorials, documentation, and example projects for Unity, Sketchup, and Blender. The only thing lacking in user help is Whirld.

Some of people who want to make worlds are kinda lazy, and don't really want to go looking for tutorials. I will focus on that though, and maybe, at least for the time being, direct people to tutorials from different sources.

Could you please make the Sketchup tutorials in Sketchup 8? I'm pretty sure most people are using that.

Hey Gub,
Great Job on the tutorial so far! Can't wait until its finished. There's only one problem I see, and its a small one. The different pages of the tutorial are different documents, with links to the different documents.  Is this only temporary, or is this the way that it will be for the entire thing? For me personally, I like reading through large chunks of material, so I don't want to have to go back to the original page and click on another link to go to the next little section of the tutorial when I'm reading. Besides that, looks good so far.
thanks,
ffroggy

Sorry! I didn't see this reply. That would be awesome if you contributed! If you want to write descriptions of some of the tools in sketchup, that would be good. :)

If you want to do anything else too, than just ask me so you don't do something I've already done.

I also have a section for links to external tutorials now, so If you see any that aren't on there you can PM me or email me at hingoglopper@gmail.com. XD i know weird email...

Bam. Not to sound impatient, but are you still working on this? I know that I, and maybe a few others could really use that last Unity section...

I wil not be doing the sketchup, blender or dropbox sections, because there is no need. There is lots of great tutorials for these programs. What I might to is compile a list to all of the tutorials for these applications that apply to world making.
