This afternoon, I went on a adventure.

I got in the car, drove into town, and went to the library.

Now, that might not sound like an adventure to you, but it was to me.  It was the first time that I drove by myself into town.   And I lived to tell about it!  Milestone:)

I hadn't been to the library for a very long time.  A very long time.
Probably haven't been since I misplaced some library books for about a month and was afraid I'd be arrested for overdue books if I went back too soon.

Anyway, it was sooooo good to go to the library again!  I met my friend Michelle there, and we spent about an hour looking through the books and movies, including a quick dash to the children's fiction section.  I still like to read some of the books in that section, even if I am 21.  Nothing wrong with that, right?;)  Michelle and I felt better going together, and we decided that, if questioned, we were looking for books for our "little sisters".  Our "fictional" little sisters, of course;D Oh, haha! a pun=D

I got a lot of books.  So many books, that the librarian gave me two bags to carry them in, and Michelle had to help me carry them out.

I got The Last of the Mohicans (the one illustrated by N.C. Wyeth), Kidnapped (also illustrated by N.C. Wyeth), several Dear America books that I hadn't read in a while, a Nancy Drew (neither Michelle or I had ever read one, so we both picked out one for fun:), Homesteading (the companion book to Back to Basics), Dollhouse Style (I love getting books about dollhouses), the first book in A Series of Unfortunate Events, two books by Scott Odell, and Captain Blood.

I also got several movies: Captain Blood (I've been wanting to watch it again for a long time!), Love Comes Softly, and The New Adventures of Black Beauty (I used to watch them on TV when I was a kid).  They actually had a pretty good selection of classic movies, and I saw several that looked good, but I wanted to look them up on the internet before I rented them.

Unfortunately, I will have to wait to watch the movies until Saturday night, because my cousin and I are fasting from movies this week.  It's been really nice having for time to do stuff, though, and I'm glad I did it.  I am looking forward to tomorrow night, though;)

Anyway, after we were done, I drove Michelle home, and then came home myself.
It was so much fun!  We'll have to do it again, Michelle=)

So ends a perfect day.

That's all for now folks!

Oooh, so jealous!  ;D

Sounds like you had a lovely time.  Isn't it nice to "Not be once again subjected to the rather uncertain punctuality of one's parent's", as I was just saying only yesterday? =)

I. Want. To. Swing. Dance. With. You!!!

Ever lovingly,

How exciting!! There's something just breathtakingly exhilirating about going out on your very own, for the very first time... :)

My very first time driving myself somewhere alone, it was the day I got my license, and I was driving myself to work. Not all that exciting, but it was quite the adventure to me! Also, I was driving the big white van, which made it equal parts embarrassing and exciting :)

I'm glad we did the movie fast, although we didn't even really get the chance to keep each other updated! To be honest, I was forced to end mine Friday night because I watched the new Karate Kid with the family. (CUTE movie!) And then I did watch When Harry Met Sally, Saturday night after my all-day class.

At any rate, it was definitely a good thing for me to save all that time that I would usually spend just sitting down and watching a movie when I have so much to do!

Love you :)

It was very exhilarating!=)

lol.  The white van, that your mom says looks like a coffin inside - that idea didn't really comfort me;)

I'm glad we did it, too.  I'm thinking of making it a once a month thing for myself.  Well, to be honest, I watched one part of Captain Horatio Hornblower with Alex, so we're even;)  I wasn't going to count watching movies together as a family, since that's family time.  It was mainly the time spent in my room in the evening watching movies.  I watched Captain Blood on Saturday night:)

Yep, it was definitely a good thing and a time saver!

Love you, too:)

That was certianly a grand day :). I was very glad to get something easier to read and what could  be more fun that going to the library with a friend? Have you read the Nancy Drew yet? I liked it but it's very simalar to the Hardy Boys and they get tiresome after awhile because they are all alike.  By the way you did a great job driving :).

It was indeed a grand day!
Yes, I read it and liked it a lot.  I went again yesterday and got the next one:)  I've never read the Hardy boys, actually.  I'll have to see how the Nancy Drew books are as I get further along in the series - some series, like the old Elsie Dinsmore books, get old after about the 10th book.
They have a really nice movie selection at the Hayden library!  I got 4 more movies yesterday:)
Thank you!  I'm glad I didn't scare you when I was pulling out of the library parking lot=)  If you hit it at just the right time, it's almost impossible to turn left there.  Yesterday, I hit it just right, and was able to do so, thankfully!
