We were leaving a friend's house in the afternoon, and just happened to be in the right place at the right time to get a pic of the deer in the neighbor's yard. The aren't really scared of the car - it's the people in the car, so if you don't say anything you can get pretty close. We were about 15 feet away:)
That's a beautiful picture of the daffodil, Jo Bug! Did you take that while we were at the plantation?
don't you just love that? (right place right time=)
Thanks Tasha! No, actually I took it at ma and pa's. (you met them, didn't you?) I use it for a desk top picture sometimes when I get tired of Molly and Annie. =)
Beautiful picture, Tasha! Wow - y'all's deer are furrier than ours =D (Presumably because it's colder up there...)
The other night, I had gone for a run around my "track", and I was walking one last lap just before dark, and a few deer ran right across my path, then stopped and stood still as I walked closer. Eventually they turned tail and ran... but it was a cool moment :)
so, here's the question you've all been waiting for. (well, maybe not 'all')
which is faster, a deer or a horse? I mean, I can picture a horse flying across a field, mane and tail streaming behind, but I can also picture a startled deer darting away into the underbrush so fast you miss it if you blink. Do you know which is faster?
I'm not sure which is faster over the same distance on the level, but in the woods the deer definitely has the advantage. We didn't come even close to catching it:)
