The starting seems a bit sketchy. If they are so close to each other starting, it would easily turn into a sit and shoot match. However, if they are too far away, it would take too much time for the other person to catch the quarry. It may work as is, but both players need to be moving.

For only using buggys, have one or two referees start the game and turn off all other vehicles before others join.  You should allow some beforegame referee time to perfect physics settings.  Also, maybe referees could be allowed to use other vehicles if it is their preference because they are not fighting.  You should ask Aubrey to make a new game mode like this.

Instead of default, can it be default plus powered loops and maybe laser speed up?

Greetings aerial warriors! I would like to let you all know that I'm extremely excited about this ongoing event and honored that my name is mentioned on the same page as these many fine dogfighters. As much as I relish any opportunity to participate in aerial combat with skilled and cunning opponents, my ability to meet any sort of schedule requirements are severely limited at this time. My hope is that the games will be intense, fair and entertaining for those participating and for those spectating. Know this, if nothing else, the word "competition", if traced to it's root comes from "competent".

 

 In recent months, there has been much attention paid to world creation as the major, positive thrust for Mars Explorer and duly so. I am in awe of what has come from it and how people's imagination and determination has resulted in almost endless challenging and beautiful places to play our game. Let's face it though, Mars Explorer was designed with vehicular combat in mind and the game deserves to be played and played with all one can muster! Otherwise, all the wonderful maps and incredible vehicles are not used to their full potential but simply cruised casually to escape boredom or as a pleasant backdrop for chat.

 

  Here me when I say, aerial dogfighting deserves the attention that this contest brings as dogfighting builds so much more than the ability to "pwn" or to earn a reputation. Dogfighting builds skill, hand-eye coordination, determination and mental focus. Dogfighting can provide indescribable satisfaction from a battle, well fought, be it win or not! These attributes can be utilized in most all other aspects of life if one chooses to embrace them.

 

Behold! cheezburger bravely bloodying Seb's knee caps when one might assume a darker fate for the one named after such a common but delicious food product! In my recent server surfing, I have definitely noticed an increased sharpness of several players that are usually known for more casual laser fighting.

 

Go forth, ye and do your worst damage knowing that your opponent will surely do theirs!

With the newfound publicity of dogfighting, and so many people excited about this tourney, the next tourney (Which I plan on hosting in around 2 months) might very well have spots for 32 Martians.
