The first twenty times a newbie tries to play and before being allowed the privilege of a name or game play, they must first listen to Stinky_The_Talking_Bot's audio discussion on behavior VS consequences on Mars Explorer.

 

Content of Stinky's talk would include, but not be limited to;

* If you make a name like "imcoolandurnotsoshutup", no one but you will think you're clever for it.

* If you must post on the site about rockets and explosions, be prepared for verbal rockets and explosions.

* If you become a nuisance, kruncher will hound you, TheDude will ban you, babaG will tell you to be respectful and flyclub will lecture you ad nausiem. (we're talkin' PAIN here mister!)

 

  That may scare away players. And remember this is a family friendly game. If there child is lets say 7 and gets verbally hurt by the bot some one could sue Aubrey.

Hey, guys, LAY OFF THE NEWBIE'S ALREADY!!!  REMEMBER THAT AT ONE POINT YOU HAD NO IDEA WHAT THE STATUS QUO FOR MARS EXPLORER WAS!!!  NEWBIES ARE NOT BAD, THEY ARE JUST UNKNOWLEGABLE ABOUT THE CUSTOMS ON THIS SITE AND IN THE GAME!!!  REMEMBER THAT NEXT TIME YOU GO ALL-OUT ON SOMEONE WHO YOU KNOW IS NEW OR HASN'T POSTED MUCH AT ALL!!!  I can accept if you can't accept newbies and noobs alike, but at least treat newbies with respect!  I really hope the tutorial covers the unwritten rules of posting on Mars, because that could solve a whole bunch of problems.

What about a mandatory tutorial for all non-members (might be someone different playing on the same computer login) and a tutorial for all members the first time they log on to that version?

Now, given that explanation, I do believe that a talking bot has a better chance of holding a person's interst than them just reading text.

 

If a mandatory tutorial was initiated, I would suggest it apply to everyone, including all account holders and the most experienced players.....absolutely everyone.

This is so badly needed now, it truly isn't funny, perhaps a forum tutorial as well.

I think this would be useful, and result in a more educated community. In fact, perhaps there should be a terms of use agreement for when people sign up, and any violations result in the banning of their account temporarily. (I can think of a few people who need that.)

Even so if its bammed, why criticize someone when they say they love and play Mars Explorer? You guys want more people liking it even so, why criticize? Its still Mars related. I say Mars Explorer is getting more popular and actually happier!

I really like this idea!

Maybe a basic tutorial, to teach the basics (such as switching vehicles, controls, hitting a target, chat).

Then after, they can play, but they can also go through secondary tutorials that teach them about things such as making their own servers and customizing the settings, specialized and more in-depth tutorials for the different vehicles, ect.
