soooo, why havent you won any scientific discussion, creationists? why don't you ever manage to downright expose the flaws you have with out "reasoning"?

i've looked at a large numer of posts on creation topics and scientific topics, and so far haven't found a SINGLE ONE where a creationist has either postign a conclusive remark annihalating the oppositions arguments OR has shown enough evidence to force that person in the intellectually honest submission, "i was wrong.".

on the other hand we (your opposition) have pointed out numerous strawmen, lies and misconceptions, and downright mistakes in your arguemnts and your "scientific" support.

and when we do that, you seem to almost always post a troll and then leave for the next discussion and act like nothing ever happened.

this OR i haven't looked enough into all the discussions here, where you might have won one.
If you DO find or know one, please post a link to it.

PS:
lets hope you give a little more of a reply to this, than to my post "why do you?".....

I'm still waiting for HARD evidence for an old earth, since radio-metric dating and the geologic column have so many holes and assumptions in them.

..so just because you can't accept it means it is wholely not true...(you opinion of hard evidence being only written records)
real logic there.
like me not accepting the atomic theory makes atoms not exist.

of course all of this writing is redundant, as i have already made it clear that you would never change your worldview, being the bible literalist that your are.
the entire notion of you not being convinced has more to do with your reluctance to change, then with the evidence provided.

ps: if the colomn has "to many holes" in it, why are you using it to "prove" that the flood really happened.
of course there is still the notion that due to your complete misunderstanding of when which radiometric dating is applied somehow makes radiometric dating unreliable.

Bigdog is also still waiting for hard evidence that the rest of us exist...as the presumption that we do exist is based upon so many assumptions and has so many holes in it.

Then why do you, bigdog, et al, constantly fall silent as soon as anyone challenges you to back up your claims?

For example, in the same way that you will almost certainly fail to answer this post.

You're joking, right? You can't even figure out how to use the forum properly.

Hint: see the "Reply to Comment" link at the top of every comment? Maybe you could try using it. And while you're at it, you might want to try quoting the message/specific point that you're replying to. Ya know, so other posters have some clue what you're referring to - rather than having to guess.

Still delusional hay Sci? Actually I usually dont cork it up unless I dont know the answer or dont have the time like right now. Got to go. Be back in a week or 2. I know youll miss me but some of us have to work for a living. In the mean time dont compliment yourself into believing your not going to get your answer. I will answer any question addressed in english but if you want to pull out the whole dictionary just to ask a question forget it. That dont impress me at all. I have studied a lot of books on just about every subject including evolution and you seldom hear me use language like that. If you continue to post like that you will be ignored by me and it seems by most other logical people as well. By the way Sci how does my lack of competence on this new fangled machine here have anything to do with intellect? I can field strip an M_16 in 2 0r 3 seconds. Can you do that? Some day we will have our discussion on reasoning so youd better study up.

Those two "sentences" barely parse as English, let alone anything resembling coherent English.

Near as I can tell, you're asking if I'm delusional dried grass...?

I will answer any question addressed in english but if you want to pull out the whole dictionary just to ask a question forget it. That dont impress me at all.

Some of us are actually capable of coherently expressing ourselves in writing - and some of us can even accomplish that feat without resorting to a dictionary. Amazing, isn't it?

I have studied a lot of books on just about every subject including evolution and you seldom hear me use language like that.

If you mean that I seldom see you writing like a literate adult, then I have to agree.

If you continue to post like that you will be ignored by me and it seems by most other logical people as well.

Hmm, for some reason I'm suddenly reminded of that old quote about how the disdain of fools is the highest compliment one can receive.

By the way Sci how does my lack of competence on this new fangled machine here have anything to do with intellect?

Who said anything about it reflecting on your intellect?

If anything, it's your inability to write at even an 8th grade level that reflects negatively on your intellect.

I can field strip an M_16 in 2 0r 3 seconds. Can you do that?

What does that have to do with anything?

Some day we will have our discussion on reasoning so youd better study up.

I wait with bated breath.

It's under the "Styles" menu when you're writing a post / reply.

Since this forum doesn't seem to have any automated quoting functionality, I usually just copy-paste the text from the message that I'm replying to - then highlight it and select "Quoted text" from the styles menu.

I honestly did not know it was a competition !!!!!

Obviously we also do not know who is winning as we all do NOT know who is RIGHT or Wrong............ YET.

It is not a competition. It is not really a debate even. I suppose from a metaphysical point we don't know who is right but we do know who has presented verifiable evidence.

Maylon. Have you seen any of the hundred debates that Hovind has done? You'll see from the evolutionists themselves that he debates that there is no REAL evidence for an old earth or that we come from monkey like creatures. Just listen to the evolutionists themselves. It's PURE speculation.

And there you go again, Bigdog, with your blatant dishonesty.  I have watched ALL of Mr. Hovind’s debates.  They are quite comical.  I guess I could see how someone who is COMPLETELY ignorant of ANY field of science could be convinced simply by his authoritative demeanor however his "debates" are completely void of any substance and are teeming with misinformation.  I have offered in the past, and the offer still stands--post one of hovind's arguments and I will show you why it is dead wrong.  The man is outrageous and has not a quanta of integrity.

Here we go again, it is so difficlult for anyone wanting the truth, anywhere or in anything today, as I have no clue who to believe. Being unscientific, I do not want to make a fool of myself by learning lies. I find it really hard to think that Kent, knowing it is wrong to blatantly lie, does, but I am not naive enough to believe that Christians do not lie either. I just cant believe he would do that, for all the world to see. Does not seem a good idea, or a way of getting to the truth.

I am beginning to believe that depending on what you believe, or think, anyone who goes against that, is called a liar, by ALL sides. Now that is exactly what I do not want to hear. Why believe a lie?. To me that makes no sense at all. As far as I am concerned, we are all to blame over this. Why do people not tell the truth???????Because they want to be right win an argument whatever, some evolutionists are so OTT it is scary, but although my self aquired "belief" is unshakable, I have heard Christians doing the same thing, and just putting others off, entirely. It really is sad.

"Being unscientific,"
that MAKES you MORE likely to

"... make a fool of myself by learning lies."

if you DO NOT want that to happen. get scientific.

" I find it really hard to think that Kent, knowing it is wrong to blatantly lie, does,"

really, you should get scientific and actually evaluate what hes doing and how he's doing it. oh, and look at the actual "debunking" of kents arguemtents on the sites we've listed.

" I just cant believe he would do that, for all the world to see. Does not seem a good idea, or a way of getting to the truth."

looooook into the evangelical message. you will see that on a intellectual level, most of there techniques are so empty, completely empty.
(btw, kent doesn't care for intelectual honesty, as long as the ignorant "sheep" keeping shouting AMEN to his lies. and as long as they keep cencoring out and whining about critizism, the "debunking" wont reach the sheep either.)

"
I am beginning to believe that depending on what you believe, or think, anyone who goes against that, is called a liar, by ALL sides."

AAAAAAL the way down to the methapysical and psycholigical level, yes, everyone is a "lier". but when someone tries to convince me using lies and ill logic there is always a winner, and it ain't that person.

" Why believe a lie?. To me that makes no sense at all."
myriads of good reasons. most notoriously:
COMFORT.
eg: "do you REALLY want to know where your chocolate bar comes from?"

"Because they want to be right win an argument whatever, some evolutionists are so OTT it is scary"

well ya..that can happen..especially when soemone like bigdog frustrates the crap oput of us with his ignorance and dishonesty and NOT adressign arguements.
not to mention the fact that converting theist still even dare to use pascals wager...the supidity...it BURNS>

" I have heard Christians doing the same thing, and just putting others off, entirely. It really is sad."

it truly is, especially when it so hypocriticl because it conflics with the "love they neigbour" and "do not do onto other what..." message the bible, they say to follow, preaches.

It's not a completely forgone conclusion that he's a liar. It could be that he's merely staggeringly-ignorant and uninformed of the topics that talks about.

Of course, considering that Hovind's falsehoods have been corrected many, many times, it's hard not to reach the conclusion that he is willfully-ignorant (which I would consider to be a form of dishonesty).

Does not seem a good idea, or a way of getting to the truth.

Indeed. That might be why even other creationists have criticized his arguments as being fallacious.

Why believe a lie?. To me that makes no sense at all.

As far as creationists go, it seems that they prefer (and have no problem with) lies that support their pre-existing convictions - as opposed to truth that calls their beliefs into question in any way.

some evolutionists are so OTT it is scary

The difference being that those folks are normally fringe crazies, who tend to be just as ignorant of science as most creationists. But with creationism, the "fringe crazies" (Kent Hovind, Ken Ham, Kirk Cameron, etc) are the primary public spokespeople for their beliefs.

I have heard Christians doing the same thing, and just putting others off, entirely. It really is sad.

Agreed on that point. There's an old saying: "Christians are the number-one cause of atheism."

"it is so difficlult for anyone wanting the truth"

Well, if science is based on lies...they sure are productive lies;)

"I find it really hard to think that Kent, knowing it is wrong to blatantly lie, does, but I am not naive enough to believe that Christians do not lie either"

You are making the assumption that kent hovind is Christian.  Non Christian often claim to be Christian and tell people what they want to hear for a buck.  Hovind is not the first and he shall not be the last.  There is a reason he is in federal prison for tax evasion.  Do you REALLY believe the government just wanted to silence his ministry?  I suggest to you that hovind is not interested in the truth...he is interested in the dollar...and his personal comfort and delusions of immortality.

I do not call someone a liar for disagreeing with me, however when they discuss basic, basic aspects of MY FIELD OF STUDY and are wrong, I correct them.  Often, you will find one who does not wish to be corrected...the truth conflicts with their agenda.  Hovind is one such individual...I think the jury is still very much out on Big.
