I think much of what Hovind says is the truth. I dont think anyone posesses all the truth including me. My ideas are not limited to this globe. I havent lived in the dear old USA since 1994. I live in St Benedict Saskatchewan. Drop over for coffee some time Im very easy to find.

Most scientists thought the world was flat once too. They ridiculed round earthers. Now many scientists are leaving the old earth theory. Most people in the middle east believe in a young earth. The Jewish year is 5767.

Actually it was religion (Christianity was famous for this) that kept people believing that the Earth was flat and at the center of the Solar System.

I agree that the Middle East is full of people that don't hold to science. There is a reason we don't have advances coming out of that region.

I'm just answering the question. However still many scientists are rethinking this monkey to man myth.

Most scientists thought the world was flat once too. They ridiculed round earthers. Now many scientists are leaving the old earth theory.

That line of reasoning is a favourite among those who advocate pseudo-science (homeopathy, "moon landing hoax" theories, etc) - so it's certainly not surprising to see it used to advocate creationism.

In a nutshell: "The theories of Copernicus, Newton, Gallileo, etc, were originally ridiculed, and later turned out to be correct. My theories are also widely ridiculed - so my theories must be correct too!" Or in other words, an example of the fallacy of "virtue by assocation" (as opposed to "guilt by association"), confirmation bias, correlation confused with cause, and blind anti-populism - all rolled into one.

Unlike creationism, the theories of Copernicus had one really important benefit: they were actually correct. His theories did a better job of explaining existing empirical data - and they made testable predictions that turned out to be accurate.

I think he was describing his global ideas there 325. Please let us know what this survey is to uncover. Do you think we all come from the smokey mountains and smoke a corn cob pipe? Great people there in Tennesee. I mean that. society does not give them credit.

well kent that was uncalled for, i just wanted to know which part of the US u were from. I didn't say anything to indicate you were all uneducaetd hicks.

"I think he was describing his global ideas there 325"

you must have misunderstood me. i asked: HOW global are your idea's?"
NOT: "WHAT are your global idea's"

and the reason i ask this, is because i was curious if you were all from heartland US.
