Are you actually playing the game?

First of all, hello. You probably don't know me.
I first played Mars Explorer back in 2008, and I was hooked. I could not stop playing. Sure, I made some noobish mistakes, but I still had fun. In 2009, I left because no one I knew was actually playing the game. They were too focused on the forums.
I finally decided to come back, after three years. I constantly check the forums and the game for about a week, and what do I find? The people who are constantly posting on the forums aren't actually playing the game!
So let me get this straight.....you are posting on some forums, forums that were made for a GAME, and you haven't actually played the game in a while? Why so serious, martians?
Here's my point: You should post to the forums less, and play the game more. Have a little more fun! Take a break from the forums, and play the game for a day. I just got done playing a game with some people, and I had a lot more fun playing than I ever could posting on some forums.
I'm interested to hear your thoughts, so comment away.

I have left Mars in the hopes of finding more out there, more that suits my current needs, rather than my needs of time past. I do not play much anymore, but if you PM me, I could probably organize a time to play with you. I would like to play with you, because I enjoy playing with players who have not played for a long time. It would be entertaining for both of us.

I always check the server list hoping to find someone worth playing. If I see nobody, I don't play. Unless a new world was released, then I play that to explore.

Welcome back Spock! I agree with you very much. I believe the only people on the forums who still play frequently are krunch3r, pocketMAD, etah, ibcf, and me.
I look forward to dogfighting you, Spock.

Anymore, I think the forum IS the game; Mars explorer is the theme.
P.S. Good to see you again, Spock! We missed you :)

I enjoy posting on the forums as much as you do. I just think some of us Martians have become so focused on the forums, that we've forgotten how much fun the game really is. I had just finished dogfighting when I posted this, and I was having the time of my life!

I absolutely agree with you, Ambassador.
I mean... like, where the heck is everybody? The forum posting is starting to look like an addiction now. Not entirely, though. I mean, besides the fact that posting something that is of great benefit to the Martian Community, like the upbringing of a new world, or creation, and the list goes as far as the eye can see.
However... Where are the classics? Where are the People? Everyone is gone. I understand that Mars is still in its second Dark Age, but like History and Hope itself, it'll sooner or later reach another Golden Age. Hell, I think it's approaching that stage sooner than we think.
Barely anyone plays anymore... *sigh* I miss the good 'ol days.

I think you are all looking at the past through rose colored glasses. Heck, most of you aren't even from the past.

As far as I can see, the problem is that people aren't starting games. Sure, there are tons of games, but they are full of newbs.
All the good players see that there are no games started by good players, and instead of starting their own, they just quit.
Pro Tip: If you want to play, and people know you on the forums, start a game. Someone good is bound to come eventually.

@Spock - If you were "interested to hear [our] thoughts", you would have returned to this thread.

You don't play, so who died and left you boss? Telling us what we "should" do. I mean, really.

post retired....
