Attention Dropbox Users: If you use dropbox anywhere near as much as I do, you probably keep it almost full all the time. While you've always been able to get more free space by inviting others to join, this can be more difficult that it sounds. (I've told many people about Dropbox, but only managed to get two to sign up through an invite, netting me a measly 500 MB of space ;( ) Rather than attempt to track down non-dropboxers, you can test a new feature in some of Dropbox's beta versions that automatically uploads pictures and videos from cameras, cellphones, SD cards, and other devices. The first automatic upload will net you 500 MB in free space, and for each additional 500 MB of data you upload, you get another 500 MB, up to 5 GB. For more information, check out the following posts:

Note: The above article is outdated, as of Feb 3rd, there is a newer version of the Beta (v1.3.13) that lets you get up to 5 GB.

EDIT: And of course, if you've never used Dropbox and want to try it, let me know and I can invite you, and we both get free space :)

I will warn you, it takes a while to upload, I've been uploading for two days now, but I did limit my upload speed to 10 KB/s so it doesn't kill my whole internet.

Aww dangit! I miss out on so many things because of my operating system!
Most 3d modeling tools like Sketchup, Blender, and Autodesk are not compatible with 10.4, so I am forced to download an older version... Even my web browser is not up to date because the newer version requires 10.5! :(

I'm Sorry ;( If you really really really want it, you can try running Dropbox on Linux or something (You can run Dropbox from a Linux Live-Cd*) That might work for you?

*The Live-Cd is the same thing as the installation cd, but don't worry, it gives you a choice to install or just try it out on the CD.

ahahah. ok so i was reading the latest issue of Macworld and there was this artical called "10 things to do with your new mac"

The first thing was to install a backup drive using the cloud or an external hard drive

the second thing to do was to install Dropbox.  they said quote "No Mac is complete without it."

lol i just thought that was funny.

Nah.

Mac + Dropbox = Computer.

PC = Piece of C... never mind.

You do realize that PC = Personal Computer = Apple as well, correct? After all, there's nothing physically different between your average mac and your average other computer since they have the same processor arch. It's just the OS.

Yes, but PC generally implies Windows.

Scratch that...
I was reading a article in Popular Mechanics, and they said that PC's are better for gaming and most other things, but Mac had some-what better hardware...
In the end, they said that they are equally capable, but PC's are cheaper...
So alas, PC's (i.e. Windows) is better then Mac...
No-one cares about Linux these days... :)

Saying PCs are better for gaming and most other things is crap, as I have said before. It all depends on what hardware the computer comes with. PCs are crap, but can be outfitted with not-so-optimized-yet-somewhat-useful paraphernalia.

Laptops... ^^^^
Plus there's very little software for Macs anyways... -__-
Desktops... ^^^^
Apple + Desktops = Good
Apple + Laptops = Crap
Windows + Laptops = Good
Windows + Desktops = Good
Windows + Vista (Which is what they tested in the Desktop test)+ Desktop = Crap
Vista + Anything = Crap...
Altought Gateway and Acer aren't the best anyways...
Get a HP or Dell...
