Ok so I am now entering the business of video capturing and editing. I have a registered fraps and it is awesome. What I don't have is a nice video codec and a decent video editing software.
So here is what I need:
  • A very decent video codec
  • and a very (x1000) decent video editing software

So if you could help me with that it would be again very (x1000) helpful.

I don't want to be rude or anything, but this is not Mars related.  Please take it down after your question is answered.

He wants to create and edit Mars videos so imo it's a Mars-related post.
Hey Evan, while not a perfect solution YouTube offers it's own free online video editor.

I really like Screenflick. It's only $30 too! They just came out with 2.0, which is a fantastic update. Then I use iMovie for advanced editing.

cam studio gives me a terrible framerate, absolutely TERRIBLE. If you are using windows 7, you can use Windows Live Movie Maker. It's a bit glitchy, but it gets the job done.

I agree, I used camstudio for a bit, it's very low quality compared to alternatives.
