I have a question about math and a calculator.

In my calculus class, we obviously always use calculators. I was wondering, but does anyone know if you can some how solve negative numbers on a calculator?

Is there a button you can press and then BAM! a negative sign appears? ( other than the minus sign )

I tried that and it says SYNTAX ERROR because, I googled it and that's what it said to do on a scientific calculator. Im confused and im wondering if I can get some help with this quick.

I didn't know who else to ask ( other than my math teacher who doesn't know how to use it ) and I knew there were people on here who love math.

Thanks and hopefully there is.

Good God yes!

I am in Algebra I and my calculator knows that.

If it isn't Algebraic or Scientific, it looks like a "M-" button.

I've got a TI-84 plus SE, and on that, the negative sign is looks like "(-)".

If you can't find it, you can always use (0-x).
