So suppose I have a big Sketchup model and it take 6 unity terrains to cover it, and Fai should know the answer to this one because he is the one who exported this model for me, how laggy will it be?

Cool. GTR34 made a world a billion times bigger than yours. It won't be leggy, depending on what it is.

Mad does'nt know much about this just don't pay attention to what he just said (no offence Mad) The reason Sands of Time is'nt laggy is because it's a terrain.
As soon as you're dealing with Sketchup there's always a risk things will get laggy.

How laggy is will be completely depends first of all on the complexity of your model, and secondly on the processing speed of your computer.

The model covering six terrains does sound a bit extreme, and just take the SkyKing as an example, it covers about one terrain and it's VERY laggy for me at least.
So like I said, it really does depend on the compexity of your object.

Good luck :)

Bright textures (bright white, silver, etc.) also seem to slow down my computer. I would advise not making the lighting very intense.

i got it off of the SU 3d warehouse and Fai exported it for me but that lighting might be a problem since i have a directional light on it and it is intense

6 Terrains is cutting it rather close.  I would recommend lowering the terrain resolution a bit so it's not too laggy.  As far as I know, the most I've ever seen has been 4 in one.

However, that one was not too laggy, so 6 might not be a problem.

Wait, why do you need 6 unity terrains? Just use one, increase the size and lower the res a bit.

It's not possible to increase the size of a Unity terrain -_-
Have'nt you ever tried? I once spent ages trying to find out how to do it then learnt it was'nt possible! XD

It is possible. One of my worlds is a 5000x5000 terrain, instead of the normal 2000x2000.

This is an excerpt from Gub's whirld tutorial that explains how.

Wow. Maybe you should try listening to someone who's been using Unity longer than you've been playing, okay?
