NOTE: ONLY the things in the quotation boxes are official or likely ingame changes posted by CarbonTech himself after reading this, the rest were my original suggestions for CarbonTech, if any of these will become changes, CT will probably announce them officially. Feel free to add your own suggestions and ideas, ask others to put their ideas and comment on others. Please make all criticism constructive and not hurtful.
Well, heres a few ideas I have on to perhaps inprove some elements of the game. They will be listed in seperate lists.
 
  • Flamethrower: My idea to improve this nearly useless weapon is to give it more of a ability to fire a molten stream of liquid that bursts into flames on contact with the ground, an object, a vehicle or if it travels thru the air after certain distance, instead of just creating a haze of fire instantly that is near useless if your moving and can be hardly used anyways since getting into such close contact with a opponent is near impossible, especially in the air. Also, once this molten stream does come in contact with the ground or an object, it creates a lingering flame for about 2 seconds that damages any vehicle unfortunate enough to drive thru it, possibly even setting it on fire. EDIT: A napalm Thrower if that makes more sense.
CarbonTech: "I'll consider releasing an update to the flamethrower to allow the burning of the ground for a couple seconds to increase its overall effectiveness."
  • Railgun: The weapon itself is fine as is, but my idea is to give it much more noticeable particle effects, such as the projectiles path giving off small circular like shockwaves, and makes a MUCH more noticable noise and effect for hitting a vehicle, such as a smokey effect from where it hits along with a small shower of sparks (maybe even a electric like impact effect?) making its damage appear as devasating as it should be, instead of just being the weak sounding bullet effect and sound that it shares with the minigun. Maybe even increase the inertia it imparts upon its victim, at least enough so if your hit while flying, you'll certainly get knocked sideways about 45 degrees. If the bullet is going to SHRED thru your car, you should know what the heck just hit you screwed you bigtime. Or perhaps a similar recoil effect for the person who fired the shot, because for every action there is a equal and opposite reaction, so if what your firing is capable of moving at hyper velocity and can shred thru an enemies armor, a equal amount of that force is going to go backwards through your car as well. Thats just physics for you.
CarbonTech: "The railgun knock-back will be updated in the next release to differentiate it from the minigun bullet hit."
  • Missile Launcher: Probably my least favorite weapon to be shot at with, but I'm not asking for a nerf from this deadly homing menace... ok maybe just a slight one. I say that the missiles should be made a little bit slower, and their particle trails thicker and more easier to notice, for a well fired shot is nearly unavoidable except at close range, and its weak particle effect makes it even harder to know where the heck the shot just came from. If your well armored, (I at least have assault armor) the rockets arent nearly as deadly as they are against unarmored foes, but in my opinion it should be something that can be countered against more easily, especially if your green to the game and don't have any armor or long range weapons accurate enough to hit the assualter from such a distance as they can with the missiles.
CarbonTech: "For the missile launcher, I'll be improving the locking to some sort of timed lock (where you have to track the target for a certain period of time before being able to fire). It should help decrease missile noobing and make dodging it a bit easier. For the particle trail, the main problem is that the missile itself is synced over the network which causes it to stutter around a bunch. I'll see if I can interpolate the position better on the client's side – but it's not too high of a priority right now."

a) You obviously haven't used the "nearly useless" flamethrower at point blank. (try CTF chokepoint, hang around your flag) It only takes a couple seconds to kill anyone.
 
b) Do you know what a railgun is? It doesn't explode or shatter what it hits. It goes right through it. Not much effect except for severing several internal functions and frying the air around it. I like the in-air effects and the sound ideas, but it shouldn't knock the car around.
 
c) I like the ideas proposed. I don't like having explosions on my car and not knowing who shot me.
 
Overall, I (mostly) like these.

No problem, its why their ideas, its just a though on how to possibly improve, and to get feedback by others, not all ideas are the best, and some need to be narrowed down, edited, or just simply removed in order to obtain the best possible ideas and solutions.
 
And if I'm correct, a railgun is a mostly experimental (in or world, the best possible example of one would probably be particle accelerators.) weapon, which uses electromagnetic impulses to accelerate and fire a projectile at speeds unimaginable towards a target. Since no such weapons exist (as far as I know of anyways) we can only assume what sort of damage they might do. The electric idea I got from the fact that moving partices, especially at high speeds can generate static as they heat, ionize and move the air around them, causing a possible buildup of electricity from all of the moving electrons that can become collected and then discharged upon impact. And since said particles moved thru a magnetic field to become moving in the first place, one might be able to infer that they still retain magnetism and ionization from them being fired. But thats all just my take on it anyways.

Railguns are fully developed weapons (just not too common due to enormous energy requirements), although higher velocity ones (mach 12+) are still experimental.

1) CC is the game, CT is the Dev.
2) The flame trower is a terrificly horrid weapon (good for killing) if you know how to use it.  An experanced user can kill in the air...  I have aerial sliced someone before (putting the nose of the car onto another car for a few seconds while the blade body is eqquiped and both cars are flying.)  It just takes skill.  Also I run into close combat more then I want...  being I have the amazing railgun.  I find that the plasma blaster it pretty accurate if you know how to lead the target (I use it as my secondary weapon).  THe lingering effect sould pretty cool, but it sounds like you are suggesting a napalm thrower to me... 
3)(railgun) One of the reason I like the railgun is because of the fact it is hard to track.  The railgun bullet has no explosives so there shouldn't be flames or anything like that.  This is a vid of a railgun, its only 3 minutes so enjoy!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OqlTXwLG40&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PL88219567857B1E66  I do not like the tilting effect though...
4) I think the missle speed is about correct because if they went any slower they would prob fally out of the sky...  And if they were slower more missles would be able to be fired out befor the target could move.  I think the trail is good b/c if it was thicker it might be confused w/ a rocket launcher (default weapon)  The missle launcher can be countered by the invis pick up.

Yea, I was thinking about something like a napalm type flamethrower, more than just a breath cannon like it is now, it might make the weapon more attractive to players, as well as give it a longer range. Or he could make them 2 different weapons entirely. Just my ideas, and I watched the video, the experimental railgun is cool and all, but such technology is simply too advanced to be made into a portable form that can be put on a ship right now. All those bolts and it is still on the verge of ripping itself apart. But thats a little off topic, and it does seem to create a sort of explosion like impact from hitting its target, but still, its experimental and pretty much a huge unknown as of right now.

I think the explosion was from what the target was...  but yeah it is.  And I would use a naplam thrower...

Extra idea for missiles: When locking on to a target, maybe the other player's screen sees a "warning" would appear in the corner or something. When a missile is fired, maybe a "Missile alert" would replace it. This would only work if the missiles were (slightly) slower.

umm i think you should be able to shoot the missles down example if someone shoots a millse at you, you should be able to explode it by shooting it before it hits you. dont you think

Which brings me back to the fact that the missiles are near invisible and travel at a high speed towards you, that and the likelyhood of hitting one of them is offset by the number of them flying at you. Even if you do hit one, you got all the others still flying at your face.
 
But enough of the missile biz, lets get back to making ideas eh?

Lol Yoshi, nice saying.  (One time I had a rocket launcher and another dude did too, and we both shot at the same time and the missiles hit each other and made a huge explosion in midair... it was AWESOME... kinda like how Eric and Krunch were dfing with me and they both shot lasers at each other and they both hit the lasers and disentigrated [or whatever you want to call it... :P])
