  • On today's schedule: laundry, library, move the sheep to fresh pasture (check), let the horses out to pasture (check), crochet, sew, read, take a walk...
  • I decided it was high time that my blog had an updated look.  What do y'all think?
  • Personally, I like it.  A lot.
  • Last week we went down to the south end of the state for the National Oldtime Fiddlers Contest and Festival.  It was quite fun.   We stayed up late.  Really late.  So late, it was early morning before we went to sleep.  And then we slept almost all the way back home.  But it was fun.
  • I'll share some pictures and some of the crazy stuff we did soon.
  • Here's one picture, just for fun...
  • I'm determined to squeeze as much fun as I possibly can into this summer.
  • As a result, I will be spending less time here at ye olde blog.
  • So, if you notice a distinct lack of posts, you'll know why.
  • You can imagine me sunning myself by the lake, riding Bob up the mountain, sitting in the shaded clover in the pasture reading a book, spending time with my friends, sketching, writing, and wearing sunglasses.
  • I love summer:)
  • I got several good movies from the library lately...
  • Miss Potter, based on the life of Beatrix Potter.  I grew up with Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddleduck and all the rest, so I absolutely loved this delightful movie.
  • A Tale of Two Cities, the old black and white 1935 adaptation.   May I just say that I LOVED Sydney Carton.  What an amazing character and brave man!  I cried at the end.  I seriously need to read the book.
Ronald Colman as Sydney Carton
  • I love my sheep.  Nowhere else do I feel so at peace and rested both spiritually and physically as I do when I'm with them...although riding my horse in the mountains comes in as a very close second.
  • I love being a farmgirl:)
  • I also love flip flops.
  • July 1st at 3:00pm.  That's when I call in to see if I have jury duty.  Ugh.  I had fun when I was on a jury, but once is enough.  I'm praying that it will be canceled.
  • I have officially decided that I need a navy blue and white polka dot bathrobe.  I don't know why, but that's what I've officially decided.  So, a trip to the fabric store is in order soon...
  • I have further officially decided that I would be completely and utterly happy if I married someone just like Jimmy Stewart.  Just sayin'...
  • That's all for now, folks!

Love the new look! For some reason I can never really get my blog to look just right. It's really irritating. I just read your email. That's totally o.k.. I slept some on the way home too. Or at least tried between the boys making an announcment every time we went into a new town and trying unsuccesfully to though chewy bars into the window going down the highway and other such crazy antics :). The best way to give you those pictures would be to download them to your computer the next time we see you guys. By the way if you could send me a copie of "Darth Mike verses Sir Percy" that would be great :). I recently watched Miss Potter and really enjoyed it. Although it wasn't my favorite movie ever. We should get together sometime to finish Wallace and Grommit and take another hike at Farragut.
Love, Michelle

Hi Michelle!
As soon as I make a transcript of "Darth Mike verses Sir Percy" (besides scanning it), I'll email it everyone=)
I would love to have the Weiser pics, as well!  Maybe Aubrey can get them from you on his iPhone next time we see you;)

@Michelle - Thank you!  Getting the blog to look just right can be quite irritating:)
Throwing chewy bars?!  I didn't hear about that one... Sounds like you had fun=D
Okay, sounds good.
I agree - Miss Potter was a delightful movie and I really enjoyed it, but it's not on my list of favorites.
I agree with that, too;)  You need to finish watching The Wrong Trousers!

Oh, I love the new look!  Those header pictures are too sweet - especially together;)
Ah ha. . . I like that picture.  It's quite chumpy, somehow - in a good way=)  Do be a dear and share the rest of the pictures soon!  I'd like that very much. :D
I think you have a very nice summer agenda. . . mine is looking to be a very busy one filled with work for my business.  But fun work - so I'm happy. :)
I saw snippets of Miss Potter in Maryland - I need to see it again, as I have a vague impression of it's being a delightful film.
I read A Tale of Two Cities last winter, and it is very good.  It's Dickens - need I say more?  I need to see the 1935 adaptation!  I listened to the Lux drama adaptation with Ronald Colman, though, and he was brilliant.
And you need to come sign my guestbook.  It's located in my new house.
Though I haven't been in to town yet for saltwater taffy. . . ;)

Thank you, dear!
Oh, yes - it is quite chumpy;D  I shall try to oblige you and get the rest of the pics posted soon. :)
Fun work is so...fun. ;)  Alex and I are working on getting the horse barn cleaned up.  We did the hay loft today - talk about dusty!  I'm in serious need of a shower...
I remember you telling me that you saw Miss Potter with your cousins.  It was quite delightful and I enjoyed it very much.
I need to read it - I love Dickens - especially now that I've seen the movie.
Yes, I do.  Maybe I could just bring you a present of saltwater taffy and then eat them all.=D
Love you,
P.S. "Dude, get a life!" ;D
P.S.S. I just watched the 1997 A&E adaptation of Ivanhoe and, while I don't recommend it (way too gory), I am now definitely in the mood for a medieval party=)

I would be blissfully content in marrying a Jimmy Stewart too. :)
I LOVE the new theme thing! Is that Audrey Hepburn in the far left picture?
I'll miss you! But you'll have a grand summer. And 'we'll always have Paris'!
Love the racetrack pic!

I knew you'd agree with me;)
Thank you, cousin!  Yes, that is Audrey Hepburn.  The other actresses in the pics are Mary Astor, Elizabeth Taylor and Olivia de Havilland.
Oh, yes - we'll always have Paris...even though we've never been there. lol.
I really wish I could figure out a way to see y'all this summer!  I sure miss you:)
Love ya,

It is a wonderful movie.
